  " .. I have never felt so insulted, confused, offended, uncomfortable & unwelcome in a pet store from staff.." When I went to Pet Valu to wash my 15yo papillion dog, in the dog wash area the first and second time, I found the staff were very welcoming, kind and helpful. My problem with this location began the third visit I came to wash my dog. The staff there had previously told me my last 2 visits that it's $10 for half an hour of bathing & brushing my dog and I could use up to an hour if there was no other customers waiting to use the bathing facilities. This time around I used the facilities to Bath and brush my dog including some light trimming(because I am 5 months pregnant now and can't bend over in the tub to groom my dog at home as I usually would). There was barely anyone was in the store and no customers came in to use the bathing facilities during the time I was there. One of the male groomers even came towards the end and talked to me briefly; just some light friendly conversation. (I used the facility for approximately 1 hour). Just as I was finishing up trimming my dog, one of the other staff approached me (an older woman) and told me that I was not allowed to use the bathing facilities for grooming purposes "because they have other groomers that work there" (as though I was theatening their potential buisness) & that I was only allowed to use the area for half an hour (as though I had long overstayed my welcome) when I tried to explain to her my first and second visit, she didn't care to listen she just stood her ground on what she had told me previously. When I was at the cash to pay for the bath along with some dog food & dog treats I had picked up, she had futher explained to me that if I would like another half an hour on top of the standard rate for any future visit I would have to pay an extra $10 ( a cost that I've never been charged/told nor explained that I would have to pay any of my previous visits). Also, I was going to pay in cash until I found out I was short $5 so I decided to pay debit which she didn't look too happy about either. I have never felt so insulted, confused, offended uncomfortable & unwelcome in a pet store. The only reason why I gave a review of two stars instead of ONE was because my previous two visits were pleasant. Treating your customers equally when it comes to the guidelines and rules you have for your establishment is very important so that we don't assume favoritism or racism or things along those lines. I am definitely taking my complaint 2 customer service and corporate.

  Horrible customer service on the phone. I called this place Sunday morning to ask a question, the girl on the phone answered me by saying " Who is this" and what do you want. If i was the manager of that store that girl would be fired on the spot. I did give her attitude by telling her that's how you answer the phone. Never going to visit this place.
