  I had been going to Dr. Solon Guzman since I was 6 years old up until I was 17. I no longer go here. Let me tell you why. (Warning: This is going to be a long and much over due Review). A little history about my teeth. I have been wearing removable retainers since I was 6 years old and from what I can remember my teeth weren't that much to work with. Once I turned 11 I was told to wear braces. This is where everything went downhill and all my insecurities about my teeth started. I had to wear braces for 2 years during my grade 7 and 8 years. I had to wear it through my grade 8 picture and during my graduation. I wasn't happy but I dealt with it. Finally I got them removed. After getting them removed, I noticed small gaps in between my teeth, my top and lower teeth were not aligned, they were slightly crooked and that the top teeth would stick out more than usual. I absolutely HATED them! I would always cover my mouth every time I would laugh/smile because they were just that ugly. My mom and I went back to Dr. Guzman and explained to him the discomfort and the insecurities I had about the teeth he left me with. My mom insisted that he "fix" it and put my braces back on. So at 16 I had braces on for the second time. During this period we had to go through so many headaches with this place as the waiting time for your appointment would be 1-2 hours before taking you in. I remember they would take me in "early" ,just so they wouldn't have to deal with my mom giving them a hard time, but in reality I would just be sitting in the dental chair for an hour waiting for Dr. Guzman to finish up with his previous appointment. So ridiculous. Not to mention he would scrutinize his staff if they did not do something right, in front of the patient. Definitely made me feel uncomfortable. After a year and a half of getting my braces put back on for the second time, it was finally time to take them off, I was now 17. I was still not happy with the way they looked and they still stuck out but it was an improvement from what they looked like before. My insecurities were still there however, I just learned to accept that it would always look like this and I needed to move on from it. Later, I was given lingual wires on my top and bottom teeth and removable retainers to wear at night. They were not even placed in the proper areas of my teeth ( I did my research and had many consultations with MANY SPECIALIZED orthodontists). Now let me tell you these lingual wires have been a constant pain in my a** ever since I got them. Every year I would constantly be getting these wires glued back on as the glue would always come off and the wires would cut the inside of my mouth. Don't tell me it was because I was eating something hard or sticky, because I can vividly remember eating OATMEAL and the glue came off.... I am now 25 years old, my lingual wires are now frayed and just about useless, I finally made the decision to get my teeth fixed AGAIN with a SPECIALIZED orthodontist whom I trust as they have amazing reviews. For the amount of pain, tears, and insecurities Dr. Guzman has put me through, I have learned A LOT about this life experience and recommend others to get your braces done elsewhere. I truly am so upset that I had to spend so much more money on getting my teeth fixed time and time again and that this is not something small that can be messed with and be easily fixed. This is someone's teeth that have spent so much time in investing to make sure it was absolutely taken care of. I have friends who also got their braces done here and they were not happy with their smile as well. Please do your research. I have been put through this unhappiness for far too long.
